Coffee Meet

Me holding a thermal container next to a couple Korean ladies serving coffee

First Christian Church gives away meals in the park blocks at 11:30 on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday at Jefferson and Park, in front of the Oregon Historical Society museum.

Coffee and tea is served at about 11:15, and the event ends at 12:00 if the coffee hasn't run out by then, which rarely happens. Sack lunches are distributed slowly to insure everyone gets one.

Koreans helped serve coffee most Mondays and Tuesdays until April 28th. I finished writing a flyer containing useful Korean words and phrases in plain English a couple weeks after their disappearance, in case they return. The source code can be found in my flyer collection.

Although I'm not a Christian myself, I value the service this church provides. It fosters a community that's as accessible as the sidewalk itself. Thank you Paul for guiding the event most Mondays and Tuesdays, and Mary for volunteering to serve coffee most Mondays until the young adults took over on June 15th.

I attend this event every Monday and Tuesday from start to finish. People who wish to meet me in person may do so here. If for whatever reason I cannot attend, I will note it here as soon as I can.

My last day here will be July 27th, 10026.
